SecureWorks Protects Data for Latitude Software

ATLANTA and JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 19, 2007) -- Latitude Software has selected SecureWorks as its managed security services provider and will refer SecureWorks’ services to the Latitude client base, which consists of more than 150 clients.  With more than 1,600 clients, SecureWorks has become the largest managed security services provider safeguarding more financial institutions than any other vendor.  Latitude Software is a leading provider of quality software and services to the debt collection and recovery industry.  Latitude Software’s powerful collection system includes support for collection agencies, law firms, debt buyers and creditors.

Companies working with the financial industry are being asked to provide evidence of strong security practices prior to integrating with the systems of any financial institution. As a result, collections agencies ranging in size from 5-person shops to 500-person shops need to secure their networks as a pre-requisite to getting or retaining business.  With this partnership, Latitude is ensuring that their own operation is secure and they are giving their customers the opportunity to secure their networks with the leading managed security services for financial institutions.

Latitude Software clients will have access to all of SecureWorks’ security services and can select from three flexible delivery options:  managed, monitored and self-service. Services include:  firewall, network intrusion prevention,  network intrusion detection, host intrusion prevention, encrypted e-mail, vulnerability scanning and threat intelligence. SecureWorks’ professional services offerings will also be available to Latitude’s clients and they include:  security program development, hardware/network implementation, compliance preparation/reporting, risk assessments and emergency phasing takedown services.

”In today’s race against deadlines to implement effective IT controls, as part of a company’s overall Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and recent regulations to protect a consumer’s identity, it made sense for Latitude to partner with SecureWorks,” said Carl Harkleroad, president of Latitude Software.  “Our own protection and compliance are paramount, as well as being able to offer these services to Latitude customers.”

“Not only is Latitude Software partnering with us to promote our managed security services, but they are also a managed security client of ours,” said Mike Cote, president & CEO of SecureWorks.  “Because they have access to highly personal information, they understand the need to secure data, and we could not ask for a better stamp of approval than for Latitude Software to speak on our behalf based on their satisfaction and experience with us. SecureWorks has already signed a client based on Latitude Software’s referral."
